BIOGRAPHY
With their ‘dark, blackened metal’, Patroness aims to translate
the emotion of despair and feeling lost in this world
into meaningful, thought out songs.
Patroness was founded in 2019 as a creative evolution of the
band ‘Chief Roberts’. Soon after that they released the eerste EP
‘Pyre’, containing 4 tracks influenced by Post-black metal, which
laid the foundation of the sound they still have today.
At the end of 2021, Patroness recorded their eerste full length at
Yarne Heylen’s Project Zero Studios. ‘Fatum’ was released in
2022 as a solid and impressive metal album, exploring new
sounds, combining intimate musical parts with heavy riffs, clean
vocals with desperate screams and grunting. In this album, the
band wanted to take the listener on a dark trip, with a glimpse
of unattainable hope.
In December 2023, they decided to record an acoustic EP,
featuring four classic Patroness songs, and one
Alice In Chains cover. With ‘But Unplugged’, released in
May 2024, the band proves that they are more than just a
metal band. They’re passionate musicians that like to think
outside the box.
Today the band consists of a solid lineup featuring the 3
original founding members, Guy Callens on vocals, Nicholas
Gauwloos on guitars and Steven Hebb on bass, and 2 new
members, Sven Van Laere (ex-Hope Erodes and Warbeast
Remains) on guitars and Peter Ridderhof (Ethereal Darkness)
on drums.
